
Matcha gato
Enjoy the perfect combination of warm, creamy matcha and velvety vanilla ice cream. Matchagato is the Japanese twist on the classic affogato – a dessert that is simple, yet irresistibly delicious.
Supplies:
- 1 teaspoon premium matcha powder
- 60 ml hot water (not boiling, about 80°C)
- 2 scoops of vanilla ice cream
- Optional: honey, sweetened condensed milk or a pinch of cinnamon
Preparation method:
- Sift the matcha powder into a bowl to avoid lumps.
- Add the hot water and whisk with a bamboo matcha whisk or milk frother until smooth and frothy matcha is obtained.
- Scoop the scoops of vanilla ice cream into a glass or bowl.
- Pour the warm matcha over the ice and let it melt slowly for a creamy, aromatic flavor explosion.
- Add a drizzle of honey or condensed milk to taste.
