Heritage

Our matcha comes from Japan, from regions with age-old tea traditions. Such as Shiozuka & Kyoto, where tea has been grown for 300 years. This way we know exactly what we are getting: pure quality from the source.

Local

We work with small family farms that grow matcha the way it has been done for generations. No mass production, but craftsmanship and personal attention for each leaf.

Sustainable

Our matcha is not certified organic, but it is grown responsibly. Without over-fertilization or unnecessary pesticides, and always with respect for nature and the pace of the land.

Crafted

From clay to bowl: everything is made with care and knowledge. Each piece carries the story of age-old Japanese craftsmanship.

1

SIEVE

Use the tea sifter to sift one bamboo spoon (chashaku) of ceremonial matcha into your matcha bowl (chawan). This prevents lumps and ensures an extra smooth texture. Well-sifted matcha dissolves better and makes whisking much easier later.

2

WATER

Heat water to about 80°C, so just below boiling point. Pour about 70 ml of hot water into the bowl with the matcha. This will optimally activate the taste and aromas of the ceremonial matcha.

3

KNOCK

Use the bamboo whisk (chasen) to whisk the matcha vigorously in a quick M or W motion. Whisk until you see a layer of light green foam forming on top. This creates a creamy and airy base, essential for the perfect matcha latte.

4

MILK

Heat or froth about 200 ml of milk of your choice (vegetable or dairy). Pour the milk slowly into the frothed matcha in the bowl or in a nice glass. You can optionally add some extra foam for a latte-art effect.

5

TO RINSE

Rinse your whisk well under cold water and place it on the whisk holder to keep its shape. Also clean your bowl and other accessories with lukewarm water. This way your tools stay beautiful and ready for your next matcha moment.
